Strange D5Ns thing?

Hey there,

I've been doing a lot of research on D5NS, I did saline, I did D5, since I live in EU I can't buy D5ns, so I have to get 50%dex + 0.9% saline, administer via IV and so on...(I was reading here on Webside how to do what)

Thing is that I've been infusing a lot these days, no matter what restriction on area I use (breasts, hips, booty, belly, even sack, not fan of that).
My body absorbs D5NS Over night, same as no magic double swelling is happening, I was just wondering if I do something wrong or my body just eats that, I can infuse 2-4 liters and it's gone over night

What ratio of 50% glucose to 0.9% saline did you use? You have to be careful to keep in mind that both contain water, and there's no way to make true D5NS this way because the more glucose 50% you add, the more water you also add, diluting the saline... So while you can end up with 5% glucose, you will always have less than 0.9% NaCl.

It's possible that you created a hypotonic solution, which the body absorbs faster, causing the infusion to shrink faster. The goal is to create a hypertonic solution, which absorbs fluid away from the body, causing the infusion to swell.

As abstract22 mentioned, adding glucose into 0.9 nacl is not the same as D5NS.

You can achieve the same osmolarity as D5NS by adding 50% Dex to normal saline. Sure the proportion of osmolarity that the NaCl particles make up will be slightly smaller than in manufactured D5NS, but because if the end osmolarity is the same the swell will be give or take) the same

Hey there, I did 500ml of saline 0.9% with 60ml-100ml of glucose 50% mixed together

60ml D50 per 500ml NS will give something about the same as D10 in osmolarity. 120ml would be about the same as D12. Do the math.
