What causes soreness?

Post by dissidence »

Hi All! I've been playing with inflation since the start of this year. Finally took the leap after obessing and reading up on it for years and years.
I started with Saline, but since I plunge inject instead of bag infuse I keep the initial volume fairly low to minimize needle movement related damage. I try to keep the rate of flow at 50ml per minute, but sometimes exceed it to 50ml per 30sec. Did however want to experience a bigger bag and also have it last longer, so I switched to Dextrose.
Played with different tonicities. Started with 2,5%, then 5%, and 10%. I settled for 5% as I find the amount and rate of swelling of 10% too much. It is much easier to cause problems when needle positioning isn't good, especially with my relatively high rate of flow.
I generally infuse no more than 200ml, whether 5% or 10%, but did 300ml 5% yesterday.

Something that I could never quite figure out is why some infusions come with soreness and others not. Sometimes even smaller amounts will bring on that soreness of the entire scrotum, though not testes, during swelling and especially as time draws on toward the next day. Other times I have done 200ml 8% and had a fantastic swell without a hint of soreness during or after. To date my best session yet. I've had other phenominal sessions where there was not a hint of soreness.
There are times where I am not as hydrated as I could be, but there doesn't seem to be such a definitely noticeable direct link I could establish between hydration and that specific soreness. I could be wrong, of course. Yesterday's 300ml 5% swelled me so that the fluid, for the first time, started pushing up into the surrounding areas. It was definitely the biggest I've gone. Thise areas got really sore during and today remain sore along with my scrotum (skin sensitive and internal structures, facia is sore), which made me wonder again if I am missing something obvious or whether this is just par for the course. I have seen a lot of folks here mention cramping, but I' not sure whether they mean this soreness of the scrotum and its insides or cramping of other bodily muscles due to dehydration.
I've played around with frequency too where I would infuse once every weekend or once every month or two. While this definitely has an impact it is not the only predicator for soreness. Last night was the first time in 2 almost months and it brought on that soreness.

I would appreciate anyone who wants to share their take on what causes this particular soreness and how to avoid/minimize it.
