Hi there

Can be awkward to get water filled tube on and sealing without causing a spill. Practice makes perfect LOL. I'd suggest that you only fill the tube 1/3-1/2 full with water, how much you will need will become more easy to gauge with time. Hopefully you pump/tube will be fitted with those white snap lock connectors. Best to place tube over package from below with it unconnected to pump, tilt the tube until the outlet of tube is out of the water while pushing tube firmly into groin. Connect pump and start getting a vacuum while sitting back ( can't think of any other way to wet pump ) You should be able to establish a seal and pump happily while submerging cock and balls in warm water without getting water in pump. The amount or " air gap " in tube will need to be fine tuned but this comes with time. Phew... easier to do than type

Manual hand pumps are pretty resistant to water damage so getting water in pump is no big deal, one of the main advantages of manual pumps. You should try and avoid it if possible in case prolonged water damage cause the internal seals to break down.

Electric pumps are a whole different ball game however...............

Yeah, Xerxes is absolutely right. In fact I thought when I started out with mine that you couldn't possibly fill it through the neck and then evacuate without spilling, but you can. Best thing is not to put too much water in (and not have it too hot or your balls will look like red cricket balls lol) and raise the ASTJ up from below, though in time you will want to try filling up the whole thing. A seated position works best, I find.

Good luck with your ASTJ! It is a joyous piece of equipment. Here's a small pic of me in mine after 6 months of regular use.
