saline in the uk

i would like to try saline but am unable to find a supplier here in the uk as its pescription only. does anyone know where to get it from in blighty<br>one more question how long would it take to infuse 1 litre<br><br>any help will earn you a mention in my will

HI , I too would love to get saline in the UK . Re how long it takes to infuse 1 litre , it depends on the size of the needle you use , how ' loose' your sac is , it takes me about an hour to infuse a litre of saline

unless you find a black market supplier i dont think you will get it in the uk. I have been trying for years. Best bet maybe to get it shipped in from the continent, weather it will get through customs i am unsure. <br><br>

Is the saline you can get for eye washes the same stuff???

Ive wonder that , the eye wash we have at work says  'not for infusion '  does any one know if you could use it to inject if you sterilize it first  or does it contain other chemicals?

Hi, Saline can be got in the UK , it just really depends how you go about it , saline in the Uk requires a perscription to obtain but you can get it without one if you now how , you can get it from a vet for treating animals and you dont need a perscription, people who keep horses use it quite a bit , heres a link to a company in the uk that supples all the needles etc http://www.spservices.co.uk/index.php/cPath/89_175  Eye wash is saline but because off the law they must put " for iv use only" on the packing otherwise they could sell it as a POM only, i did speak to a doctor friend and he told me that you can make saline yourself , he cave me a copy off the instructions from a book that he had , it said boil 1L off water for 10 minutes add 9 teaspoons off rock salt and boil for a further 3 minutes , it was important to use rock salt and no other forms off salt , you can get the the complete kits from the US , i know some guys that have got them no problem its just a risk that you have to take with the customs etc , but nornally they get through the system ok .

I have tried contact lens solution that had preservatives. Not a good idea, burns like hell. But if you find lens solution with no preservatives, it's nothing more than saline.

HI GUYS , I have today ordered some saline, plus other stuff from PUMPHOUSE.ME.UK I will let you know how I get on , there conformation email says I should get the order by 4pm tomorrow , will wait and see !!!!!

I am pleased to report all the items I ordered from www.pumphouse.me.uk have arrived as promised . Unfortunatley I will be unable to use the saline this weekend due to prior committments , I have no connection with this firm but am pleased to say their service is excellent and am happy to use them again .
