1.) Can this sugar substitute cause a diabetic to go into a diabetic coma?
2.) Can using these substances cause a hypoglycemic to convert to diabetes?
3.) Does use of these substances negate the effects of a diet in any way?
4.) Will your cholesterol count go up by using this stuff?
Just some of the questions I've had.

I'm not a doctor but I someone close to me is a type-one diabetic. When she became hypoglycemic (low blood suger) the effect was for her to black out and nearly die. When the paramedics were called they shot her up with glucose and the effect was to send her blood suger level through the roof but literaly brought her back from the brink.
So yes, glucose can certainly affect a diabetic in a bad way. I don't know what the effect of dextrose would be. If you're a diabetic, or on the fringes of it, stay away from glucose.
If I have this right, a diabetic is hypoglycemic by a fault in the genes, the pancreas doesn't produce the chemical needed (insulin) for the body to break down food into the basic sugars. Insulin injections are required but too much insulin results in too much sugar in the bloodstream which is a hyperglycemic condition.
There are two types of diabetes; type one (born with it, needs insulin injections) and type two (the person has a bad diet and is likely to be overweight, can be rectified with proper diet).
I imagine that glucose abuse can be like pigging out on candy, cake, chocolate etc.
Cholesterol? I don't think sugar has much effect to a bodies cholesterol level, that has more to do with fatty foods I think.
