I put the needle in the back of my hand. The insertion hurt quite a bit, which is why I aborted my first attempt. I tried again on a different occasion and it stopped hurting and was fine after the needle was in. I used a 1L bag of dex, which is why the swelling started spreading up my arm. I didn't get through the whole bag as I I stopped after my palm started changing colors. Must've been under quite a bit of osmotic pressure. I'd say the use of my left hand was impaired for 24 hours.Next time I will probably just do normal saline.midwestchub wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 8:47 amThis is super fascinating to me. I've always wanted to explore putting saline and/or dex into the areas I've done w/ N2O. How much did you infuse? Where did you have the needle? Did it clear up quickly enough to not be an issue?
I've also gotten the same effect by wearing rubber bands on my wrist overnight, but that hurts a decent amount at the point of constriction and would disrupt my sleep.
