Crazy as it might sound.....
....I dont use a pump! All the vacuum I use I create by mouth! Just pull on the hose like a soda straw until you have the vacuum you need. I use a shut off valve to keep the vacuum at the point I want (got it at Home Depot). I read about this method on some other forum. At the time I was searching around for a pump, so as a last resort before I wasted my money on a pump I tried the mouth thing and it works just fine. Remember you only need SOME vacuum to get the results you want. Look at any of my posts at any of the pump pics they were all done this way.
As far as drilling in glass, the pumps in this post are NOT glass one is a poly carb (the color photos), the other is plastic, both take to drilling very easily, both cost under $7.00@.
Over the past 9 months I have made 8 various sized pumps only one is glass a a STJar.
Hope all of the above helps

Fruits of a bountiful summer.....
......of pumping.
Here is my home made collection 7 of the 8 (I was pumping with one when I took this pic) various sizes and shapes to fit any mood or need, enough pump sizes to do a flea to an elephant, all from off the shelf materials.
My biggest pleasure this summer was pumping big and and building cock tubes.

Kiwi ingenuity
Hi - good to see a kiwi product being put to good use! I too have used the click-clack range to produce the odd tube. Their biscuit barrel is very good for getting those big balls bigger - however the entrance is big too...

ITs an excellent
Chris,
The Click Clack is an excellent product! I mean its poly carb, 5 year replacement, made in New Zealand instead of the P.R.C. (no slur ment), all for under $7.00US. I was so impressed with it I went out and bought 3 more to store food in instead of my balls.
Did not see the cookie jar, will look again, love big balls.
Cheers

Alltidus......
.....The Click Clac tube I use is 4 x 12.5, plenty of growing room, cheap (under $8.00), its poly carbon, nearly unbreakable, has a built in mini-lip so it is a good start for a home made vinyl hose seal. I really enjoy pumping with it, it has the same volume as a STJ but its lighter and best of all its safer than glass. It can be drilled and epoxy holds to it.
