glass jars
i have a couple of glass jars [ vases ] i bought them at a second hand store for a couple of bucks. they are both thick glass. the larger one is flared so i have no need for a expensive seal. the other one i made a seal out of a motorcycle innertube.. as far as pumping with them i use a craftsman pistol grip pump. sears 60.00. all pumps from automotive stores are much cheaper and they are for bleeding car brakes. that means they come with alot of handy adapters and tubbing. when pumping i insert a smaller flexible piece of tubbing in the regular tubbing. this is the piece i feed down along the inside of the jar. dont let it suck up any lube. lube the opening of your jar, put a bit extra where the smaller tube is and pump away, . hope this helps i do have acrylic cylinders as well and they work great. i have read in here about the hardware one needs to buy to make a STJ function. you can take the spigot out just unscrew the plastic nut on the inside and in reverse order put the spigot [take out the white plunger] on the outside of the jar. your tubbing should fit right into the opening,

Drilling into glass, a word of advise!
GA, may I add to your post about glass and the vac. hole?
I found by using a bit of water to the drill site, cools and lubes the bit, to help from cracking the glass.
Just my 2 cents!
Good luck! Take your time drilling, pressure and friction will cause the glass to fracture.
