This has been a great thread. Homemade tubes that get the job done. All of you who have posted great pics really are to be applauded. I've been gone (out of country) for the past while so I'm anxious to get back to pumping. I even made a new homemade tube today but no pics of it yet. However, I'll post some of the ones I've made out of kitchen stuff.
This first one was made from an acrylic strawholder.
Drilled a hole and put in a female connector.

After it was made I started using it. It worked out pretty nice but I could have used some cushioning
along the rim. Now a pump toys type of seal would
be the way to go.

Dave

Hey, I found a truly great potential tube for making a great homemade out of at Wal Mart yesterday. It is the one quart size Food Saver container, found in the housewares section for $7.50 It is close to 7 inches in length and 3 3/4" in diameter. With a pumptoys seal and a female connector fitted, it should make a great drivers tube. I'll post some pics of it as I construct and use it. Meanwhile, here's one from the past that I made from a light bulb cover. A bigger lightbulb cover should work even better.

Here is the small version of the STJ that are now appearing in the stores. I don't recommend this size as it is limiting (as is the light bulb globe) I'm looking for a clear STJ, has anyone seen one?
