User forums_phpbb3 already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]

Same error happening today Sat June 06, 2026. (actually since last night). The forums in general are sluggish and takes a long time to view a post or load an image and general site navigation. The site was in maintence yesterday evening (EDT).

SQL database issues...

Here's my guess ------> Sluggish forum navigation and slow image loading following site maintenance are usually caused by server-side cache rebuilding, database index optimization, or residual locking. When an SQL database undergoes maintenance, it often clears caches, forcing the server to process heavy queries from scratch.

Because the backend needs to rebuild these data pathways, you might experience lagging until the server catches up to the traffic load.

There is also a very unusual high number of not logged in or unregistered guests on the site, 500 plus and only 3 logged in members.
Those siterequests slows down everything.

I don't know if the admin is intereseted in updgrades. Rumors of ending this beautyful site are around.
May be we all can donate som money to bring up an newer version or another server.
Or some one trustful becomes a co-admin tu support the owner.
