Hi all ,
I’ve had my 9mm plug at the point where it sometimes falls out but was not able to get in my 10mm. A few days ago I got a new plug that tapers 8 9,10,9,8.. after about a half hour I got it to pop in. It’s been in for two days and my question is , is it normal to hurt like hell? I’m thinking maybe when I went up to the 9 it was pretty much my normal size because it didn’t take much to get me there and only ever hurt when I got hard with it in. With this 10mm in it’s much more sensitive, hurts to the touch, and when I get hard while sleeping it literally wakes me up throbbing. Also, it’s locked in so tight I might need King Arthur to get it out. I do add lube around the tip and spin it frequently but even that is painful. I’m wondering if maybe it’s swollen from the initial stretch and will loosen up after the swelling goes down? Or maybe I just need to give it more time? Is it normal to be painful when you move up a size?
Thanks for any advice

Whoa.. I wouldn't leave it in more than a few hours.. Natural flushing needs to happen.
Balls flopping free like a bull. To my knees, and beyond!

It is a pee through plug and I’ve seen posts on here before where people said to leave it in for several days to stretch. I had my 9mm plug in for over a week before. I couldn’t find any 9.5mm plugs online so had to go from 9-10 and I think I didn’t realize how much difference 1mm can make.

You strained the meatus forcing it in. Now, the weight of the plug is stretching it again as the weight of the plug and tension from the urethra try to force it out.
Put a strip of medical tape across the meatus to help hold the plug back a bit. That will minimize irritation until things recover.
The plug will eventually fall out on its own.
As diameter increases, the cross sectional area of the plug gets proportionally larger with every millimeter.

Thank you for the reply. I’ll try the tape as it feels like that is what’s causing the pain. It is not unbearable but is a bit unnerving.AndyJ wrote: Thu Mar 26, 2026 4:20 pm You strained the meatus forcing it in. I had a similar situation, when I reached 14mm.
After two days it started aching and the penis was swelling.
When I took out the plug, I had a fountain of blood and the bleeding was going on for some hours.
After healing (1 week) a constriction created at the end of the former plug-place.
This constriction always closes again, so after 3 years, I am just at 16mm
I guess, the change zone from no-plug to 12mm got sore and the nocturnal erections did not improve that.
If I was you, I would take it out, just to check if there is any infection or bleeding. You will for sure be sore in the next days.
