What size on the connector on the hose?

I need a male connector, but not willing to pay about 10$ plus shipping from Pumptoys.....

It should be 1/4 inch NPT for the fitting.
McMaster Carr has the couplings.

Here's the part:

Colder Tube Fitting, Straight Thru
Part #PMC2204
In-Line
1/8" Insert x 1/4" Barb

"Colder" is short for the Colder Products Corporation (CPC). That's why the metal tab on the female connector on your cylinder usually says "CPC." The part number, PMC2204, is the one that Colder assigns to the male connector, so you can Google "Colder PMC2204" (in quotes} to see if anybody is having a sale.

The 1/8" refers to the inside bore of the fitting. The 1/4" I.D. refers to the outside barb (the ribbed part that slides into your tubing). It fits 1/4" Inside Diameter tubing, aka 1/4" I.D. tubing).

By the way, you can buy 1/4" Inside Diameter clear vinyl tubing from Lowes Home Improvement center. Home Depot also carries it, but the stuff at Lowes is a bit sturdier. I buy it in rolls. It's between $5 and $10 for 25 feet. It's really important to ask where it is. Every Lowes and Home Depot I've been to seems to have tubing in illogical places.

You can buy this male connector in bulk from a company called "Fresh Water Systems" for $1.41 each, but if I recall, there's a minimum and you have to pay shipping and tax. The more you buy, the cheaper they get. A single fitting can end up costing around $10 with shipping and tax.

Here, you can get two similar fittings for $12.99 from LeLuv. They also sell a single fitting for $9.99.:

Amazon has this fitting, as well. It's $9.25 plus shipping. Shipping is free if you have Amazon Prime.

Try searching for this in your search bar:

Colder Products Hose Connector, Straight Hose Tail Coupling 1/4in ID, 8.3 bar

I found I could order direct from LeLuv (Kodi Distributing) and get a better item+shipping price than from any eBay or Amazon vendor. I last ordered a connector about a year ago.

As far as I know every tube maker uses the same, or at least interchangeable equivalent, connectors.

As major77 was looking for a lower priced fitting, the Colder and generic Amazon fittings are the same price more/less as the Leluv fitting. The Colder branded and generic fittings that I have purchased do not fit to the QC section of the Leluv fittings.

As stated above, the threads are 1/8NPT.

The Leluv fittings are a smaller size at the QC section and will only mate to the QC section of other Leluv fittings in my experience.

I scrapped all of my Leluv fittings and use generic fittings as mentioned in this thread:

viewtopic.php?p=400833#p400833

If your tube/sphere/device is large enough you might have room to use a bulkhead connector. The bulkhead connector allows a short piece of hose to be used between the tube and the connector. For me this is more durable than the small 1/8NPT threaded fittings. Regardless of the brand, the 1/8NPT fittings break easily when the fitting gets bumped/banged around in my experience.

I use 1/4 silicone tubing. It is more expensive than vinyl tubing. Amazon, 1/4 clear vacuum tubing, Baomain brand.

TinyMe’s photo shows the small QC section which will fit to the Leluv QC fittings whether the fitting in TinyMe’s photo is actually a Leluv brand fitting or a Leluv compatible fitting. The hose side is 1/4 barb under the fancy blue hose.

The Colder and generic Amazon fittings have a larger QC section than shown in TinyMe’s photo. I looked and looked and looked some more but could not find a Leluv fitting for a side by side photo comparison or for measurement. My Leluv style fittings were all discarded.

If threaded, the threads are 1/8NPT.

Does this tubing lay relatively flat? I always end up fighting with my vinyl tubing that wants to stay somewhat coiled up.

The silicone vacuum tubing will not curl/roll up like the vinyl tubing. The silicone tubing will yellow due to exposure to UV. Epsom salts and lube probably speed up the yellowing. I prefer clear, other colors are available.

I did find a pair of Leluv style fittings that were not discarded. In the attached photo, the Leluv fittings are the tiny fittings. Nothing wrong with using Leluv style fittings, just not my preference due to breakage. If all fairness, my addition of the short section of hose as a strain relief solved the breakage problem.

The generic Colder style fittings that I use have a shroud around the release that the Leluv style does not have.

The blue tubing is 3/16 aquarium tubing.

I really like this silicone tubing from Freshwater. Very sturdy, doesn't yellow, always lays flat. Worth adding if you're buying Colder quick connect supplies.

This is the tubing I settled on:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CDQ ... =UTF8&th=1

Very flexible and user friendly. At approx. .50/ft. its pretty hard to beat.
