Intereting question.
Up till15 yrs ago, never mentioned it and hid it from women. They all liked the goods and figured they had hit the jackpot. A few told their friends and usually caught those friends staring at my midsection, when we were in their presence.
Then decided there was no sense in being sneaky. I now tell em all in the 1st or second interaction. (Of course I don't count the prudish ones who get jetted almost immediately when they start talking about their virtue and laundry list requirements.)
Bottom line is, without question, few are aware of what it is. These few are already fascinated and want to know/see more.
The ones that don't have a relentless curiosity and also want to learn about it and are willing to take instruction on how they can get involved to help.
