New General Error (May 24, 2024)

This keeps happening randomly when I open a post or try to post something. I can't figure out the pattern yet, but it's happening frequently. Here's the error:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
User forums_phpbb3 already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

Yep, me too, I really don’t think 1203 folks are on here at once.

Snap. Is it getting spammed by bots maybe and pushing up the connections?

The 1203 doesn't refer to the number of users - it's an error code I think - like 404 page not found - hence the square brackets

Yeah I've had the same error repeatedly for a few days now. It's really frustrating but I assumed some kind of ddos attack or somesuch is going on?
