Homemade Jar Gasket - Proto-Putty

I was looking through old forums to get ideas for homemade gaskets and came across someone recommending making one at home with Proto-Putty.
So, I gave it a try. Honestly a must for anyone looking to make your pumping time more comfortable on a budget
I've been using jars for about 6 years now to pump and refuse to spend lots of money on something I can do cheaply.
Send me a request if you also pump solely with jars.

Ok, this stuff is Silicone I mixed with corn starch.
Totally making some of this stuff, I’m worried about the starch absorbing water and rotting, but maybe the starch dissolves in the mix and is totally encapsulated.
This is the second thing on this forum I used with my family, first J-Lube turns out makes the best blowing bubble solution, and now I’m going to make a bunch of putty for kid to make bouncy balls, while I make a ring for my balls.
The corn starch is there to simply make it easier to mold/handle. I'm assuming it wouldn't make the silicon absorb water at all. I will post an update after some extended use!
Here's a handy youtube link I used as a reference in making the proto-putty! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fwytA5r2Mw

Hi Guys,
Another handy way to make a seal for your jar is from a length of rubber hose. 8, 9, 10 or 12mm diameter depending on the size of what it has to fit on.
Cut it the length necessary to go round the opening of the jar or whatever you use, lay if on a flat surface and it will probably curl in a circle, sort of, then with a very sharp blade/knife slit it length-wise along the under side or top side so you can fit it on the jar, carefully trim the ends so they fit together as perfectly as possible, then use silicone gasket sealer to seal all around the inside and outside and were the ends meet, and the next day when it has dried you have a permanently comfortable jar.

After seeing this post I went and bought the required tools. It took me 3 tries to get it "right" and even then it came out looking like a complete disaster. How did you get the shape so perfect? Even after watching the video I would say it was a disaster, lol.
Fun project though.

Foam & fiberglass
made with a drill & dremel
The drill is the 'lathe', the dremel is the cutting tool.
Been working great for a few years.

Hello I am currently trying to make a mold for casting. CAD is done. Now the shape is printed in 3d. And then filled with 2k silicone. I'll show photos here. When I finish the first one.

That one there is for a seal that is actually 3D printed eh. How do you get that to seal between itself and the tube?

I'd like to try to make one like schrauber with silicone. Not really so much for soft and comfort, it just looks like that would seal very well against the tube. I've made a few of my own seals and they are comfortable, but I can't get the damn things to seal against the tube, it always leaks a little. That's the hardest part.

Size this to fit whatever straight tube you have.. could be adjusted with Sketchup to fit a BullMaster. I have a couple on 4"ABS tubes.
The tube is glued with epoxy or silicone sealant in the slot.
