Trouble Getting A Good Seal?

I am new to bp'ing and I just got a long johnny tube from pumptoys with a 4" opening. I am having trouble getting a good seal with the tube and am getting lots of leakage. Any advice?

if you don't shave your pubes, that's a great start. I use my beard trimmer on mine and give myself a #1 cut, just becasue I don't like to go smooth. Smooth is for girls
If you use an electric pump you don't need to worry about leaks since it's constantly pumping.

My pubes are trimmed to 1/8in and I have no trouble with a seal ....

Did you get one of PumpToys special seals to go with your tube? That should help to maximise your seal and comfort of fit. The one for the ASTJ, which at 4" wide I suspect is the same opening as the LJ, is very comfortable. Otherwise a reasonable shave should do the trick. Also, be careful which lubes/oils you use, as these can tend to repel from the rubber of the seal.
Do not, however, make the mistake of pumping up extra quickly in your dogged determination to get a decent seal on the thing, that way lies red spots and frustration...
