Pumping wet

One thing I've really found helpful over the years is to pump with really warm water. This helps the expansion and as the water cools off, it gives you appropriate intervals to take the tube off, massage everything and then renew the warm water. My biggest results have been achieved with the warm water technique.

It does help to have a big towel and not getting water sucked up into the vacuum pump tube.

Last one (gotta head to work)

Sometimes if you pump too big in a 2 stage, you end up with a tight squeeze so don;t be in a hurry to get out.

Hey fellow wet pumpers. I also like wet pumping, but (eventhough I think I know the answer), how do you relax while pumping, yet keep water from getting sucked into the pump. That is how I destroyed my pressure guage. Some water accidentally got sucked into my electric pump. When I am pumping, my hands and mind are free to work or whatever. Since the tube hangs down, the vaccuum sucks the water right into the pump. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
-A

alilnut,

A flask and two-hole rubber stopper should cure your problem. The volume of the flask should be slightly larger than the amount of water that you are using. Connect the pump to one hole of the stopper and your cylinder to the other. That way any water that is drawn from the cylinder will go into the flask and not the pump.

The MityMite (or whatever the name is) that I bought at AutoZone came with a container just for the purpose of preventing liquids for getting into the pump

Regards,

PTP
