Hi Friend, did you use the iodine to disinfect the area first? Did you use sterile gloves? Or just regular exam gloves? Did you use a sterile drape to put around your lap and to place your tools upon? Did you use the blunt tip cannulas? Or just the included needle?

Of curse you have to work in a clean area.
Wash and desinficate the treated area and hands. You can use normal gloves and spray some desification fluid and rub it.
The syringe is clean. I use new sterile needles.
It's not a surgery, just a small pinch in your skin.
