The only effective ones I've heard of are traction devices, which you do indeed have to strap on to a degree just below the glans of the penis, then it extends down to your body.There isn't another way I've heard of that can do this without doing that aside from pumping, which on it's own is a traction device technically, but pumping for length is also not for everyone since it takes a considerably longer amount of time to do and perfect so it doesn't cause blistering, etc than a "strap" type traction device would. I've heard of people gaining a 1/4-1/2 or so from traction devices. Maybe in extreme situations, more than that, but I'd say higher than that is probably statistical outliers that have maybe been doing it for close to a decade.
