Testicular atrophy

Post by Pumpchub »

Anyone have experience with TRT or strait up being on gear cycles, reversing testicular atrophy?
I've been on trt for a couple years following a prostate infection, so coming off isn't really an option from the damage, and with a history prostate cancer in the family I want my t levels to stay up.

Any pumping techniques, or suggestions to get my balls and loads back to their old glory?

My testicles were damaged by a staph infection, and then shortly after that I went on TRT. The boys were the size of grapes, and soft.

I started pumping them in a straight tube at 3"Hg. It took a few months to start seeing results. I pump about half an hour every day. ("free" time when I'm laying in bed surfing the web on a tablet) They are now firm, and stay in the medium to high range for testicle size. Mine are more elongated than oval, so that's 1x2 to 1.5x2.5".

I'm not after an enlarged scrotum like the guys in the ball pumping section, which is why I use a straight tube instead of a stepped tube or jar. I am still getting more hang as the scrotum stretches, but that's unavoidable, and I wanted some anyway.

You would expect that since the scrotum is open to the abdominal cavity, that it would just pull fluid down, pressures would equalize, and there would be nothing to make the balls expand. In practice, it takes a while for the scrotum to fill, and the balls get expanded during that time.

They still vary in size from day to day, or even hour to hour. I have no idea if they did that before; it wasn't something I ever really wondered about.

There may be better ways to make your balls bigger, but I haven't found any yet. I went through a whole list of supplements that are supposed to help, with a month on each one, checking ball size with a digital caliper. My measurements verified I got nothing. But enough people have reported that some of them - Damiana, for example - work, that it's worth seeing if they work for you. If nothing else, they're cheap and easy to try.

You might want to discuss HCG with your doctor. HCG is a hormone that gives your balls the signal to work. Its often used together with trt to prevent atrophy. The downside is that you need to inject it every 2 to 3 days, but its subcutanious so not as bad as the trt..

Just an fyi, you can do trt. Sub-q as well. Actual amount is less vs intramuscular , but ideally you inject 2x a week, easy to do at home.

Talk to your provider, there are several studies on the efficiency of sub-q. Probably the most telling study was on women transitioning to men ( not me). Found to keep t levels higher and more consistent than IM.

If your stacking for bodybuilding etc, this may not work as well for you, however, My T levels stay in the 1000-1200 range using .5ml twice a week, coming from 350-450 pre trt.

Doc did say it might make my balls shrink, I replied, not a problem, it will ,are my cock look bigger 😎

As far as injecting sub-Q, I've been on TRT for while. The endocrinologist runs labs every six months. Let me refer to my lab spreadsheet...

Total T in ng/Dl, free T in pg/Ml; that's how the results come back from the labs
[this was nicely formatted when I typed it in, but HTML will probably wad it all up to the left]

04/08/24 total 1295.4 (still sub-Q)
06/13/23 total 815.3 (~4 months subcutaneous)
12/13/22 total 634.3 (probably just normal variation)
06/09/22 total 749 (after six months on 100ml twice a month)
11/04/21 total 185.7 free 23.6 (initial visit to endocrinologist)
07/20/21 total 146 free 21.3 (test by my main doctor)

I asked the endo about going to sub-Q on 12/13/22; she was vehemently against it, and apparently made a note in my file, since she asks if I'm still injecting intramuscularly each time she sees me.

Notice the jump after going sub-Q. Looks like the weirdos on the web were correct. [any weirdos here, feel free to take a bow. Good on ya!]

The endo only ran the 'free' test the first time. That number can be important for a lot of things, but either she's not interested or my insurance won't cover it. Probably both.
