How do you create a vacuum in this glass?

Find a jar/vase with an appropriate sized opening (you don’t want to get stuck but also don’t want too much extra sucking in)

Shave and use lube for a good seal

Use a small tube (fish tank oxygen tube is good) and suck the air out before pulling the tube out.

Be careful about pressure since you don’t have a gauge.

Thank you! I’m working more toward consistently packing my second tube (2x9) I sometimes go back down to work on length but I’ve decided I want to outgrow my first tube permanently. I’ll do that drop down method again after my 2x9 becomes my starting tube.
