First Time Saline - Ready for More

Been a pumper for a few years now, so my sack has a nice stretch to it.

I finally took the plunge and did 500 ml saline for the first time yesterday. Definitely stung a little bit going in, but I believe it was a success. Now the sac is stretched and bloated.

I'd love to top off today with 500 ml of 5% dextrose. For the more experienced infusers, any concerns or issues from a first timer topping off with dextrose the next day? If there were any risk of infection, would I feel it in the first 24 hours, or could complication happen days later?

I'd like to say round one was a success, and definitely last longer than when I pump. Want to be smart and responsible here. Thoughts?

Adding the dex should not be a problem. Go for it.

Looking good with the first 500 of NS. As long as you keep everything sterile there should be no issue with using dex to top off. Heck with the NS that is sitting there in the cells you might get quite a bit of growth
