I keep getting the message "You are not authorized to view messages on hold" WTF?

I believe you may have to delete some old messages to free some space to view the messages on hold.
Try deleting some old messages and let me know if it helps.

Ah hang on it says they can't read messages on hold.
Have they tried taking them off hold?
It suggests the inbox is full.

Maximum private messages per box: 50
Users may receive no more than this many messages in each of their private message boxes.
So until you delete some old messages the new messages will be "on hold" until you free up some space by deleting some old messages
