Burdizzo experience

Has anyone had any experience with a Burdizzo? Either first hand or not. Please share your experience and any pros or cons.

Growing up on a farm, have used them on bulls. It seemed to be extremely painful to the bull.

Have never been able to close it. Waaaaaay too painful!

For those that have Burdizzos do your jaws completely touch with alot of pressure when closed and does it require alot of force to close? I just got a set and it seems it would cut rather that crush.

The jaws do not close completely. They do come close.
They are designed to crush the spermatic cord without cutting the scrotum.

Not the spermatic cord but the blood vessels to let the balls die from lack of oxygene.

Hi, The set I just got the jaws close completely and require lots of pressure on the handles to completely close. The close with a snap to get over the hump. They would definitely cut. This is without anything in the jaws.
How much gap is there when the jaws are closes on yours?
