I am simply amazed at the results you guys achieve. I have a question about making the ideal pump. I have made my own stj that works ok but doesn't keep the best vacuum. It is a gallon stj. Are there advantages to using a smaller, professionally bought stj type cylinder? Faster gains, more consistent vacuum? Or can all this be achieved with a gallon home made one? Keep in mind I am a beginner!
I have done a search on this and haven't found a clear answer: If I wanted to use an acrylic cylinder that I bought in a store and drill my own hole, how would I go about creating a good seal? I have the standard pumping quick-disconnect body fitting that is commonly used but it is now on the gallon stj.
Many thanks for the awesome forum!
