I too would like to do this. I've looked into a hoodectomy (removal) but then that's so permanent should things get de-sensitised. Hood splitting would seem to be a happy solution - greater exposure of the clit but with the protection of the skin still in place if necessary. Apart from BME (I think extreme / hard - you need a paid membership) I haven't seen anything else on the web on the subject. I have a vertical hood piercing myself, and wondered if by increasing the gauge of the jewellery till its super large whether a split could be done this way (more gradual and gentle than scissors), or would it just migrate .... This whole subject has become a pet project bordering on fetish of mine - let me know your progress I'd be interested

I’m pleased to see that the “Clit hood splitting” topic is moving again after laying dormant for several weeks. For some time I’ve been intending to post my own thoughts, so here goes!
With regard to sunsetgypsym and pippimay2’s original enquiries about getting a clit hood split, as pussypierce suggests, getting it split rather than removed seems to be a good idea initially, to see how things go. From that point it would be possible leave it split or to sew it up again if so wished! However, if it works well, you might want to remove some of the hood, and could even remove more later on. Daed also mentions a good point; Body Mod people who split tongues and other things should also be able to split a clit hood, or offer good advice. Armed with such advice perhaps it is something you could do with your partner, with surgical scissors or careful use of a scalpel, whilst taking all appropriate measures to prevent infection, however the full responsibility is yours, I’m not recommending it!
Not forgetting the main purpose of this Forum; apart from splitting the hood, how about pumping that clit? And I mean just the clit, not the hood as well. Gentle but frequent, indeed prolonged pumping in a suitable sized tube (progressing to slightly larger ones later) will produce the best results. Care, patience and persistence are needed! You could perhaps even organise things so that your clit tube was attached whilst you went about your daily routine - nice thought! Mentally and physically this could be very stimulating, both for you and any anyone else that knew about it! You might want to take precautions to see that your clit tube could not end up by your feet if it became detached. That could be rather embarrassing, or an interesting topic of conversation!

For those interested there are also websites dealing with the general topic of “Female Circumcision”, but I must emphasise that I am only interested in those where this term is used to refer to the partial or complete removal or the clit hood or prepuce, or even just the separation of the clitoris from the hood where adhesions have occurred, the idea being to enable the female to enjoy greater pleasure. There can never be any justification for removing a clitoris, unless it is to save life in the event of cancer or similar. There was a time when surgeons would remove a baby’s or young girl’s clitoris because they considered it too large. Who is to say what is too large? Many women like a large clit, and even more men do! Some want to make them bigger as we see in this Forum.
