Any good for pumping (in the car) ?

I will have to find out myself... It is on the way. I imagine a weak and quiet pump that I can leave on all night. Or overheats and brakes

I think it's for volume, not higher vacuum...

Will move volume. Like deflating an air mattress when you already have atmospherice pressure helping. You mentioned pumping in a car. If you have the proper voltage, try reversing the valves in a Tetra 60 aquarium pump. Will give you 5” vacuum reliably and is very quiet.

Ummm no is my experience. It is however great for blowing air into an STJ to release massive balls that get stuck

You are right. Very loud and not suited for vacuum pumping...
