Re: Do castrated men live significantly longer
When being a eunuch was a place of social status there were boys who were destined to be castrated. Research identified Korean eunuchs castrated as boys and determined that they lived to an average age of 70. This was much longer than other men at the time. Then most men lived to a ripe old age of only 50. The findings came from the Chosun Dynasty ruling from the 14th to 20th century. On the other hand, Italian castrati, boy singers castrated to preserve their soprano voice, found it did not affect their longevity of life.

I am aware of the somewhat contradictory nature of what evidence is available. It would be interesting to compare the care in old age both groups received. The castrati, not having children may not have had any immediate family, such as children, to care for them in old age. I don't know what kind of care the Korean eunuchs received.
It would be interesting to do studies on the 600,000 eunuchs currently in the US as far as longevity controlling for differences in income lifestyle etc. Possibly volunteers could participate in controlled studies on testosterone administration, amount, order etc., or lack of.
Generally, I think castration should probably be more available, especially for older men, 50+, perhaps. The medical profession's current attitude toward castration if to severely limit it, except if one is transitioning.
