Pumping after piercing

I need some advise. I have my nipples pierced with a 6 gage ring. I would like to start pumping my nips again but I'm afraid that it might irritate the piercing and cause the nipple to reject the ring. Anyone experience an issue with nipple pumping after piercing? I've been pierced for years with a smaller gage but the 6 gage was just put in 2 months ago.
