Pumping a pierced nipple?

I'm interested in pumping my nipples but my left nipple has a horizontal bar through it. Any tips for pumping my nipples without necessitating the removal of my bar?
I've used larger diameter cylinders to pump my pierced nipple, ideally though I thinj the best thing would be to just unscrew the beads or whatever is on the ends of the bar. This works best if the bar is internally threaded (beads screw into the bar so the bar is smooth) I've also seen PTFE (teflon) retainers you could put in place instead of the bar while pumping.
