Hey cbtario, I don't think the name of the fluid is Hydrocele. I think that is the name of the condition you had. But your input has cleared up one very important thing. The fluid doesn't accumulate inside the balls, but rather surrounding the balls, so the balls are not likely to shrink if it is drained. I think devodude is right: it's just interstitial fluid. All the references I've read just call it "body fluid". It leaves open the question of how much fluid could be injected into the balls and what that might do.

When you drain the fluid how long did it take before it came back and did it always come back to th previous level or did it gradually go down. Would like to drain a hydrocele and get it a little smaller.
What size gauge needle would or did you use?
Thanks Jeremy

After I drained the sac it took up to 6 month to "refill" to an uncomfortable status. And you can take any Syringe needle you want, just take care that you don't pierce the ball. The fluid of a hydrocele is not in the ball, the ball floats in it.

Is this comment a sad statement about the American healthcare system? You're forced into a DIY approach to personal health care? Here in Canada, I would just see my doctor and it would be taken care of.... for free.

While I am a Canadian citizen now living in California and am in favor of a universal health care system like the one in Canada, I can't agree with devodude's comment. When I moved to California, my income taxes dropped and my disposable income increased by literally tens of thousands of dollars, and everything cost only half as much. I found that I could buy a helluva lot of health insurance for what I saved elsewhere, the lesson being that nothing in life is ever free.

I may return to Canada if Trump turns this country into a redneck state of racist bigots, self-centered hypocrites and unconscionable short-sighted idiots who pretend (or worse yet, believe) that climate change is not real, but it won't be because of Canada's health care system.
