Hi Ive been sounding on and off for quite a while but just started up again.

I really am trying to understand how to get into the bladder.

I have a Van buren sound tip 22 ( f22?) about 8mm tip at an angle of about 45degrees
I can get through the prostate fine, If im sitting in a chair the sound comes to rest pointing amost horizontally with the tip pointing upwards internally I imagine. I also have 4 sounds. 11mm ( fits fine ), a van buren, a thinner one and a ribbed one.

Ive tried probing in every slight way attempting to follow the channel through the prostate without deviating but there is just a spikey resistance at the other end.

Should the tip point vertically up through my abdomen, what should it feel like ?

the poster seems to be pressing directly down on the sound. I was expecting a much lower angle was required to push upwards.

I use Xylocaine Gel 2%.

I think that I may not be doing it right. I have tried the 2% Lidocaine but it didn't seem to work for me.

Is Xylocaine something different then Lidocaine?

Can you please share the procedure that you use to get good results?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No, Xylocain is the trade name for Lidocain.

Fo me it worked perfect in numbing the area to cut.

I am struggling with keeping the Lidocaine in my penis long enough to make it work.

I an thinking about ordering a penis clamp.

Any ideas that you could please share?

Many years ago, as a college guy, I tried sounding with a Pyrex glass tube. Occasionally I put egg whites down into my urethra using it. I was masterbating with it deep once and the thing broke inside of me. I was able to work it out carefully but not without some bleeding. After that I never did it again. Good thing too since I was risking a lot of my future, with potential infections, etc. I never inserted it into the bladder. I could sense the pain as I approached it. Now days, some fifty years later, after a bladder cancer was removed, I am having annual cystoscopes. Not fun. I don’t mind most of it until the doc goes through into the bladder. Then it is please hurry it up doc!

I am thinking about using a penis clamp to hold the Lidocaine in for several minutes so it can get a chance to do its work.

Any ideas that anyone could please share?
