Thanks for the pics - this is exactly where I want to be! Did you cut or tie? I’m thinking about clamping and cutting now. Did my first tiring, but ended up cutting it in the end.

I was cauterized with a laser, and the cauterized tissue was completely liquefied and no pain was felt.

Hello!
Oh boy, i would have so much to say right now about this but i try to keep it short.
So..I'm 41 years old very sexually oriented male , ive been almost obsessed about sex for most of my life. Didnt have too many girlfriends back in the day and now consider myself happy just being bachelor with no need for relationships.

I've had this subconscious feeling within me that something has never been completely "right" with my penis. When i was a kid , sex or genitals were a taboo in my family, i was hastily taught one time to wash myself under the foreskin but as a kid i didnt pay too much attention and basically my d*** was left being on its own until i became interested in sexual activities. When i started to examine under the hood, penis had survived all the neglect but there were maybe 2 or "attachments" where foreskin had latched on to the glans, those were ripped off pretty quick when i started my masturbation habits.

Forward on to the first girlfriends, actual intercourses were of course very nice but sometimes it had that "too much" where everything would become too intense almost painful, especially when i was closing orgasm and often lead to erection going away. Similar thing was always happening with direct masturbation efforts touching glans. I've just never been able to achieve good orgasm without having foreskin over.

I didnt think about it all the time, thats why i never gave it too much thought. I felt its the way i was built. That i just have this super sensitive penis and nothing could be done. I tried to train myself keeping foreskin pulled back to loose some of the intensity, it never was a great success.

Then i came across subject of frenulum and how to get it sorted.
Now, this is also something i was slightly aware of, that i indeed had condition of frenulum breve. My penis just didnt look like most i seen through the porn. What i knew is if i pulled too far my glans would go down and become tight. Suddenly i had enlightenment: What if this thing is the root cause of all these problems??

Gathering all the info i could about tying frenulum(especially this post),for several hours I gathered willpower and strength to went through it . I remember thinking "am i seriously gonna poke a needle through my frenulum?!?". Then i just said to myself "f*** it, lets do this" :D

I did it all very ghetto style: Regular sewing needle , some monofil fishing line and rubbing alcohol throughout the process to keep things clean. No numbing agents were available and tbh poking the needle through wasnt really painful just shocking to your mind(i made sure not to hit any veins). Not much to add about experience that hadnot already been said, it was not a pleasant 7 days I can tell that, so if you decide to do this you need to have determination and faith. Also i had to adjust line(poor choice of thread i know) a lot and manually stimulate cutting process every now and then.

One interesting thing i found out during the process is how increasingly horny i started to become as frenulum started to loosen up. I'm not the one who could just decide to not masturbate for 7 days, its just not gonna happen. So i had to relieve myself few times, it was frustrating painful but also new kind of sensation starting to happen.

So....
Now i've been freed from my frenulum for 2 days. The healing is still happening and place is somewhat sore...however...
the feeling of my new penis.. just WOW WOW WOW....
I dont know how to put it in words. Im feeling almost like discovering sex for the first time, but this time how it REALLY SHOULD FEEL.
Touching of the glans now is so different than it used to, it feels heavenly. Moving the foreskin over the glans feels natural and not forced like before and also so friggin' good. My erections have become so hard that i didnt know was even possible, it actually feels a bit scary at times, my theory is that my previous tight frenulum really messed things up, preventing natural blood flow and who knows what!
And the other interesting thing: It looks different now! I could say it looks..happy
I just cant wait for thing to completely heal so i can start experimenting fully with this new found exctasy :D :D

Also, Not sure if im gonna for 2nd cut to loosen it up even more. I will give this one few weeks to adjust and then re-evaluate need for it, but if that time comes ill make sure to use better thread to it, the self adjusting ones

Hope someone read it all! For me this has been an eye opener!

I cut my frenulum 15 years ago after repeated soreness and swelling through micro tears caused by skin tension during sex. There was a site dedicated to frenulum removal, I can't recall what it is now, but it guided me in using the tieing method successfully.

I tied off one end as close to my glans as possible with stretchy mono filament thread used for sewing, it's about 0.3mm thick. It comes on a thin reel in 5m lengths, available in craft stores. I too used the "ghetto" method of a hot sterile sewing needle through the webbing of my frenulum as close to my glans as possible but still where the skin was almost translucent. Ran the thread through the hole, tied it off with a surgeons knot (look it up) so the loop sat flat against my glans. This ensures as little daggy ends are left afterwards. The blood supply is cut off and after a few painless days the knot pulled through and it fell off into my underwear. No blood, no pain.

I repeated this for the other end of the frenulum, now hanging free. If done right there should be virtually no frenulum skin tab on your glans, maybe a flat "line" where the skin used to be attached. I did the 2nd tie off twice as the first go left a bit more skin tab on my shaft then I wanted, but essentially the process is the same. All up it took 2 weeks and about a month before totally healed.

It goes without saying the regular cleaning and sterilisation with non-alcoholic liquid is essential to stop infection. I'd suggest using betadine. Alcohol stings and dries up the skin, it's too severe in my opinion. Avoid masturbation if possible to stop scabs from breaking and greater risk of infection.

Afterwards your cock will be different to look at, your glans will ride higher up, straighter than before and will be a little wider due to no more restraining frenulum. Your foreskin will pull back further and sit loosely around your glans, in my case it rode up exposing more glans than before, but not totally, like a circ. I eventually got sick of this effect and got a circ.

Never looked back, love it,recommended.

Made a second tie just a moments ago because i wasnt still completely happy, hoping this will be the last one and frenulum will be loose enough to my liking :?

This time i was using Emla and can highly recommend! Inserting the needle through didnt even sting and i actually made two holes because i wasnt happy with the first one. There was a blood involved too, but luckily it stopped pretty quick so its cool, though very nasty thing to witness your dck bleeding :x

Hi been doing these things for years and only just found others in these forums, released the forskin under my penis more by accident due to a piercing migrating and the hole becoming to big. I made the final cut by tying a thread tightly through the hole and eventually it became free the same happened under the knob end hence the pee hole split.

I just did two ties 1 week ago. They are not loose yet but you can’t tell that anything is really happening. I will leave them for another week and see what happens.
I ordered a cauterizing pen and will complete the process with that if need be.
I could use some advice on using this. I assume there is some pain involved with this. So should I use an anesthetic and ice before I try this? Should I cut the whole thing off from the glans back about 8 mm?

Hello, I can reassure you about the pain. In the meantime I have learned from electro-masturbation that you can also switch off the pain with it. Of course you can also use an Emla cream and you can immerse the penis in ice water for 10 minutes. Try that. To cut, you should buy very sharp scissors from the pharmacy, it's worth it. You can't slip and hurt yourself with scissors. An electric cautery is also possible, so that the bleeding is stopped immediately. Even after the procedure, the pain is very limited if there is no inflammation. This can be prevented by working sterilely very carefully.
Have fun. :D

Lexi Thank you for your advice on this. I am going to give the tying until the end of the week to see how it goes. Then numb things up and cut it off.

I had a tight/short frenulum for as long as I can remember. In puberty when my penis grew, the frenulum breve made it bend downward a bit while in erect state (about 30°downward). Also I used to wear rather tight underwear as a kid, which might not have helped. In December last year I did a bit of googling and realized I could get rid of the problem by following the advice on this and other similar forums (I had never thought of it before, thought surgery performed by a doctor was the only option). So I did quite a bit of researching, and on January 16 this year I did my first tying.

I used a hypodermic needle for piercing the frenulum (18G; 1.20 mm wide and 40 mm long). It is hollow, so when you pierce the frenulum, you can run a thread through the needle easily, and once the thread is through, you simply remove the needle (in the direction opposite to the direction of piercing). The needle had a plastic attachment at the lower end used for attaching a syringe, so I snipped the needle close to the lower end with scissors used for cutting metals (which can be seen in the attached pictures). Now when I think about it, the snipping was unnecessary because I never ran the needle through the frenulum in its entirety. The needle came sterile, but I boiled it in water for about 5 minutes prior to piercing the frenulum just to make sure to kill any bacteria (since I had handled the needle with the scissors and all…).

In terms of the thread, I used the Stretch Magic elastic cord (0.5 mm diameter), which worked well together with the diameter of the needle. I have (or used to have) a very sensitive frenulum. Performing this procedure without an anaesthetic would be extremely painful for me (I tried pinching the frenulum with my nails, and it hurt like hell). So I ordered a tube of EMLA cream (containing 25 mg/g of lidocaine and 25 mg/g of prilocaine). I applied the EMLA cream onto the frenulum, and within about 10 minutes I tried pinching the frenulum with nails again and felt NO pain at all even when pinching as hard as I could. So I pierced the frenulum as close to the shaft of the penis as possible and about 3–4 mm away from the top of the frenulum close to the head of the penis, ran the Stretch Magic thread through the needle, removed the needle as described above and tied the thread using two iterations of the surgeon’s knot and then a bunch of square knots on top to make sure the knot wouldn’t loosen. I made sure to tighten the first and second knots as much as I could (I was close to breaking the thread when tightening).

In total I have done 3 tyings over a span of about 3 weeks (the first one in mid January, second one about 10 days later, and third one 10 days after the second one). Now I am pretty satisfied with the result, and I think the penis doesn’t bend down as much as it used in erect state (now maybe only about 20°). I hope to straighten my penis even more using a professional traction device over the next 6 months.

Some things I can share from my experience for people reading this thread and thinking of doing the same:

1. Buy EMLA cream. Yes it is expensive but it is well worth it. Just apply it 10–15 minutes prior to the piercing and you will not feel ANY pain during or after the procedure. Numbing the area with ice might work to some extent, but it certainly won’t work as well as EMLA.
2. Use an elastic monofilament thread (such as the Stretch Magic mentioned above), as it will keep the knot tight while the thread is cutting through the tissue. And use monofilament because it doesn’t fray like multifilament threads and is much less likely to cause any kind of infection.
3. Feel free to wait some time between individual tyings before the penis fully heals. I was a bit impatient and after the first tying I waited only 2 days or so before doing another one, and the area was not fully healed at that point, but I didn’t care.
4. After the first tying, I did not see or feel much progress after about 4 days, so I tied it once more by simply running another Stretch Magic thread through the same hole (so there were two threads one beside the other). I think this can speed up the process, and you don’t have to pierce the frenulum again as you are using the same hole, so it’s pretty easy to do it. After about 8 days since the original tying, there was only a tiny sliver of tissue holding the thread in place, so I took scissors, sterilized them in boiling water and used them to cut through that remaining tissue.
5. I think it’s better to use a hollow hypodermic needle rather than a sewing needle or something else as you won’t need to run the needle wholly through and won’t have to worry about passing the wider lower end of the sewing needle through the frenulum, which may be problematic.
6. Boil any equipment you use for the "surgery" in water for about 5 minutes in advance to sterilize it.
7. When piercing the frenulum, choose a spot with no visible blood vessels/veins. That way you probably either won’t bleed at all or just very little (a few drops of blood at most) after the piercing. And even if you do pierce a blood vessel, the bleeding should stop after a few minutes, unless you have some medical condition impairing blood’s clotting ability (haemophilia…), in which case you shouldn’t be doing this procedure on yourself anyway.
8. You can use an antiseptic like Betadine after the tying. Personally I used it and then washed it away with water after a while and just kept the area clean (washing it about twice a day). Also I kept the foreskin rolled over the area (thought of it as a protective cover).
9. This procedure is NOT a big deal if you do it right and apply the right information.

And since it took me quite a bit of time to write up this rather extensive post, I’d also like to ask the community:

A. Now that the frenulum is pretty much gone, I have excessive skin tissue in the area, which is somewhat visible in erect state and creates a slight "ring" around the penis during erection. It’s nothing that makes me too nervous as it’s jutting out only very slightly, but I’d like to ask if you think this excessive skin will eventually go away, become flat and align with the rest of the skin so there is no "ring" or "knob"?
B. As you can see in the pictures, there is a white "scar", or discoloration, that has formed in the area. Will this also eventually go away and become nearly invisible / same color as the rest of the penis?
