Curious how I would find a urologist willing to do a urethral reroute/Perineal Urethrostomy without too many question. Or if anybody know one. DMs welcome if not here.
Have no interest bottom surgery, subincisions, or really any other type of alteration. Kind of like my equipment as is.
Just something I’ve been wanting for a while. But want to done by a professional.

I don't think any doctor would do it. I am curious what others are saying.

Re: How to get a urethral reroute
I have a urethral reroute that I did by myself as I know it is impossible to get it done by a medical professional without it being a necessity. To many risks. Risk of nerve damage which could cause loss of erection or sensation, etc. I have read of guys who needed to have one done and then had problems with it closing up. Not being able to urinate can be life threatening.
In addition I had to permanently block off the old urethra to keep urine from coming out the old hole simultaneously with a strong stream.

Really don't want to think about trying to DIY it. But seems like no other way.

If you are willing to travel I am quite sure you would be able to find a doctor, e.g. Brazil, Thailand or some East European country. Problem is cost, aftercare and experience.

Re: How to get a urethral reroute
I did mine using a 8mm diameter dermal punch and then recutting it larger several times as it healed to where I ended up with a fully healed opening that was fully functional. The cutting is the easy part. Keeping it open while it heals is the hard part. I've had my reroute for a decade and a half now and still love it. I wish I had been born that way.noone851 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 12:45 amHow did you do your reroute?NuderThanNude wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 12:38 am I have a urethral reroute that I did by myself as I know it is impossible to get it done by a medical professional without it being a necessity. My urologist told me that reroutes do not always work. He also said that UTI's would be more common. He did not venture to say that he would do one.Jamesrh1 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 10:15 am Curious how I would find a urologist willing to do a urethral reroute/Perineal Urethrostomy without too many question. I would want to have made a plug that could be mechanically closed off after peeing.

Re: How to get a urethral reroute
This is something that has fascinated me for years. As the comment above about the dermal punch, that is the only successful way to get it done without closing up over time. Having the option to direct which opening is used sounds like fun.
Sorry I could not answer the phone, I was tied up at the moment.

Re: How to get a urethral reroute
The dermal punch is not the only way to get a reroute that will stay open. The staying open part is more due to keeping the hole open during healing and recutting if necessary as there is almost always shrinkage. The dermal punch has more to do with the function of the reroute opening as to one that sprays in all directions vs having a tight urine stream. I see a round (or oblong) shaped opening (done with a dermal punch) that stays open all the time more likely to provide a nice tight stream. I see cutting a slit as being similar to the old plastic coin purses that had to be squeezed for the slit to open up.
As good as the idea of being able to select which hole the pee comes from it doesn't work that well in reality. Anything one does to restrict the reroute opening (to get pee to exit the tip of the penis) will result in building up pressure in the urethra to where it will come out both openings. Pee will take the path of least resistance so even with a round hole, because of the flexibility of penis skin there might be times where the reroute gets restricted and pee comes out of the tip of the penis unexpectedly (spraying on pants, etc.) Worse yet when it comes out both at the same time. That is why I permanently blocked off my old urethra.
As far as having a reroute done professionally... I can almost assure you that you will only get it done is it is medically necessary because of the risks involved. I have read of guys who had them done medically and had continual problems of the opening becoming restricted. I think if I were to have a reroute done professionally the only kind I would want is where the urethra is severed and the severed end is sutured it an opening in the outer flesh. But again, good luck in getting one done without it being medically necessary (or for a sex change)
