New Pumper - could I get some help?

Heya, super beginner here, and I got an LA pump two stage 3.5x5x8 (I think) and I’m having some issues. It didn’t come with a seal and I don’t know how important that is. It also may be a bit too large (total volume wise) and I don’t feel the tugging like I should when I use single cylinders. Use for an hour doesn’t give me much results, if any. I’m using a water based lube and I’m trimmed. I currently pump dry, but I don’t know how important that is either. 30 min sessions, 5hg.

It may be the seal, it may be the time, any advice is appreciated!

Sounds like an issue with sizing. If the pump is too big at the entrance for you it may not give you the suction you need. A seal can help with this, I use an LA pump, around the same dimensions and use a Juicy Oxballs XL cock ring to seal just fine. Otherwise, if you have a smaller pump you can use try pumping in that for a bit to get you some bulk, then try the two stage again
