I began my stretching experiences in the early 90's. For the longest time the best I could manage was about 10mm. Last year I started trying to push beyond that, and hit upon a few items that helped immensely. Among those were the infamous Sharpie pens. The main advantage of these is the gradual taper over the length of the pen. It makes it easier to slowly advance farther along the length of casing, session by session.

That led me to try making my own 3D printed plugs of various sizes -- especially once I reached the extent of the Super Sharpie and needed something bigger. I made these initial ones with a similar taper ratio. The banding from the print layers tends to be irritating and binding, so I cover mine with rubber nozzle caps.

But I think one of the most comfortable toys for me have been foam backer rods. These are used in construction work for filling or insulating gaps. They come in a variety of sizes, of which I've managed to progress from single smaller sizes (e.g. 1 x 3/8") to doubled-up larger sizes (e.g. 2 x 3/4"). The material is polyethylene foam, essentially similar to PET beverage bottles. The bodies themselves are smooth, but the cut ends can be abrasive and irritating. On their own I would tend to fold them in half and shove them in by the rounded "elbow" end, but lately I've been shoving them down the finger of latex gloves in a variety of combinations. This makes them more sanitary and easier to grab and shove. (The polyethylene gets really slippery when lubed.)

The great thing is that they "give" before your skin does, at least initially. One you've squeezed it in and let it sit there for a while, it keeps trying to expand and exerts a nice, slow force against the inside of the urethra, helping it stretch slowly and more comfortably.

Those foam backer rods seem like a great idea. It's always been a struggle for me to stretch with hard steel sounds, I'm just not a fan of the stinging pain. Seems like something I should try!

Use various size sharpie pens.. Take them apart. Drill a 1/4" hole in the closed end. Insert. Also surgical tubing, comes up to 5/8" outer diameter size.
Stretchy tape holds them in.
