What are the best items used to tie off and stop migration?

An area to talk about saline inflation.

For n2o a simple small peace of nylon rope:

With a tautline hitch knot, pictured here if you don't know how to tie it:

You are going to get migration as soon as you remove whatever you tie with. I'm not sure the effort (and discomfort) is worth it. But that's my opinion.

That said, I don't have migration problems either. I do get some into the pubis and surrounding areas, including the penis, but that's not bad. Kinda like it.

I'll second what Flexi says here. If you're doing a saline/dex/glucose infusion, unless you're looking to make sure you are completely stretched out the chafing and cutting into the skin you'll probably encounter probably aren't worth it.

I mention a comfy strap here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47257 that I've used a couple times and it worked, minimizing the discomfort I mentioned but as soon as I took it off the saline started flowing back up...

N20 is something else entirely and you'll need to tie off tightly, I'll second JDDILL's comment for that :)

Inflationfetish does the best job tying off that I've seen.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47126

Uses a small tube, inside a larger tube, with barrel clips or something similar.

I think the only answer is to sleep in a chair because leaving the tie off for too long may actually cause bigger problems!
I've seen how farmers dock sheep tails ;-)
