expired saline good to use?

Post by TheDongShow »

Hello,

So I have a chance to use my old saline stash... and I was really excited to start an infusion and the I got sad because my saline expired April 16. It is now end July, so it is almost 3 months past the date.

It has been stored cool and dry. No breaks in the outer bags. No floaties, clear liquid. All seals in place.

Regards,

I personally wouldn't worry about the expiration date if it's under a year over.
The expiration date is more about the chemicals of the plastic bag/bottle it's kept in seeping into the fluid.
It's the same reason there is an expiration date on bottled water.

It's like when you have expired pills medicine, you can take it one year later if you keep a good storage.
