impotence in a young guy?
Hi there. As I've previously mentioned I'm 19, and at this stage I'm almost totally impotent. I used to be an extremly randy teen, but nowdays I find it hard to get aroused, and I can only get half-hard and can't keep it that way. I also can't cum. This is incredibly distressing to me! I've been taking prozac for a while, but have recently switched to effexor. Is there anything I can do to help my sex drive while on these antidepressants?

Flush the pills in the toilette and have fun with your sexdrive and body!
Milk your cock five times a day and make sports and you will go relaxed through the days! The man with to much testosterone in his bodywill be crazy.

yes a prob
The anti-depressants are at fault. Viagra will help somwhat but not to the extent of what you mentioned you did in your past.
I was on Paxil,,,basically the same as to what your taking now, and there were NO erections, NO ejaculations, NO libido!

I had a similar problem, when I would be with a girl I would have a hard time getting it up and keeping it hard, My doctor said it may have had something to do with depression. he also told me that pills are not the answer, getting out and doing something with yourself is the answer, dont let this little issue ruin your life, your young so start partying and meeting new people and friends, once I got out of my rut, I was fine.
hope this helps.

be relaxed - that's important!
I believe you are only to excited. let you time for sex, with caressing each other, and it will go from allone. You don't may waiting for the hard cock, than it don't will go. A man isn't like a machine a sex automat. Important is a good feeling in your mind.
good luck

Prozac and Effexor
Tickled Pinky,
Prozac and Effexor are nasty as far as sex drive is concerned. Who and why were they prescribed to you? For depression? If so, it might not be a good idea to pitch them. Otherwise you might want to ask your doctor about Wellburtin which is also an antidepressant and in some cases helps the sex drive. Be careful if you experience anxiety because Wellbutrin might make it worse.
Do see a psychiatrist (there is nothing wrong with this). A psychiatrist is an MD who can assess your situation and prescribe the medicine for you as well as address the issue of impotence. The psychiatrist is also more qualified to determine whether discarding medication is an option.
Don't confuse a psychiatrist with a psychologist. The later is just a counselor and knows nothing about medications.
All the best.

I agree
Get rid of the meds. Start more exercising, like skating or swimming or what ever. Stop smoking. Stop drinking. Add all the vitamin B compexes. Perhaps start taking a Man' Libado supplement (There are a lot of thing available in Wal-mart or similar stores.) If you are over weight, loosing a few pounds will lift your self confidence and decrease depression which should allow greater blood flow through your system. Don't lie to yourself. If you are gay, dont pretend to be straight. If you have "strange" sexual desires, allow yourself to pursue them. Avoid trying to "be like everyone else". Be yourself. But above all, GRADUALLY start decreasing the medications. Goodluck. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss anything. Gary
