post-operative impotence

Post by dewey10 »

Am 73, and had a radical prostatectemy about 6 months ago. This resulted in impotency; even using viagra, etc. Can still pump and attain a good size, but the valve to hold it just does not work. A rubber ring will retain most of the size, but it becomes uncomfortable after a few minutes. Has anyone else been through this, and have you been able to find a solution?

OK, I know the post was in 08, but I thought I'd comment in case someone was interested.
I had the same op, with the same results but luckily I still get orgasms, in fact better than before and I don't loose interest after it and can have 2 or 3 more straight away if I want to. As for getting erect, I pump up then put 3 or 4 rubber bands on the base of my cock doubled up so they are tight and and pump again to get really hard, that keeps the erection up and bigger than before the op, for as long as I want or untill it goes a bit numb, about 20 to 30 minutes. Initally the bands hurt a bit and of course you need to shave the hair off so they don't pull and hurt, but after a few days/weeks they dont hurt as the cock skin gets used to it.
To be quite honest once I discovered how to do it there have been no problems with my sex life, in fact instead of wanting to relax and go to sleep after orgasm like I used to, I feel energised to continue rooting/wanking and have another one or more.
My advice to anyone who has had the prostate op is to experement with a vac pump, definately no smaller than 55 mills ID, and you'll master the technique pretty soon. I should mention there is no semen ejaculation when you orgasm, but that's no problem.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!!

You could try penile injections but don't go to some clinic advertising help with ED they're just money suckers, the products they offer do work and you get a good hard on but you pocket book goes lip very quickly. Go to a urologist, you will get the same or similar medications but at quite a reduced price. In Australia you can get a lot of the medico's charges back on Medi-Care and, you never know, the prescription may also be covered by the PBS, that's about AU$36.00 not AU$1000.00 from Men's clinic and other public companies.

Good luck 55r. ED is just the worst condition at any age. There is nothing like looking in the mirror and seeing a great hard on, ready for work and play. Nothing matches it

Yeah maybe so, but I've mastered the art of vac pumping with rubber bands at the base which keeps the cock really hard, harder than ever had been, and fatter as well, plus it stays up for as long as I want it to, so from the point of view of masterbation or sex with my female friend there's no problem. I do feel sad for men who don't know how to pump, they are certainly missing something and probly pissing off their women as well!

I am pleased that you are able to get it up for what ever time to need it to be up, I'm a little jealous actually. Not every one can achieve what you have been able to achieve. I started pumping in the hope that I would get some improvements but they never came. Yes, I do use/have used bands etc and it holds BUT it is that part of my penis near the mons that in not expanded and when attempting to penetrate, my penis just moves back like a shock absorber. Anyway that's my problem, good luck to you I have your ED never gets any worse.

Giday Velcro, yeah well my ed can't get worse coz there's no sign of an erection at all,so I rely on the pumping.
Btw it sounds to me like you need to make sure the rubber bands or string/rope is as close to your body as pos so the whole cock is pumped.
