Hi, this is my first post. I have been pumping for several years and only recently started ball pumping. I have been doing it 'dry', only oiled up, but I have read that guys on this forum do it with their cylinders partly filled with water. I tried it, but got water in my pump and I'm worried that this will ruin the pump. My question is: 'Is there a type of pump available that allows you to pump water or is there a filter that can be used to keep the water out of the pump.
Thanks,
Markie

This pump is an adapted bilge pump. Bilge pumps are designed to pump water out of the bottom of a boat, so getting them wet is no problem.
Available from LA Pump:
http://www.lapdist.com/product/SKU7.html Of course, you can also use a Bathmate (https://bathmatedirect.com/)
There's no affordable "filter" that I know of to keep water out of your current pump, but this water trap will do the trick for not much money, and will work with any pump:

Connect one of the black things on top to the tubing that goes to your pump and the other part to the tubing that goes to your cylinder (no adapters needed--the tubing just pushes on). Make sure that you keep the water trap BELOW the level of your pump and gravity will keep water from reaching your pump.

It’s the pleasure of the pressure...

Re: Hand pump for wet pumping
hey,
I used a lot....like 4 feet of tubing and then used a knitting needle to stuff some cloth in both ends. i could use the pump and carefully watch the water.
it never got in the pump ... the string and cloth on one end got wet. but I dad keep my eye on it.
i go for natural suction now.
