Please help us keep board spam free!

Post by admin » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:45 am

We want to open the board to new posts, users, postings, but we get overrun with spam.

We need your help. If you see a message that is just spam, please "report" it by clicking the little "!" symbol that appears at the top of all postings.

This way we can quickly identify and remove spam messages!

Thanks!!

Not sure why you're not seeing it. Looks like an exclamation point in a small triangle at the top of each post - when you "float" your mouse over it it says "Report Post"

what about "portmans22 "

There are a lot of spammers lately ,they join the forum post a link and they are gone. and back under maybe a different name .
Cant you admins block the ip address if it is the same person?

And they are all linking to the same site "http://85.17.187.83/saff/index.php?board=553.0" for example.

And why are all the posts and pics visable without logging in ,every gast or bot can copy the pictures and that's why they show up on other sites.
That's holding me back to post pictures here.
I don't think I am automatic logt in every visit ,everthing is visable ,weird or what.

Suggestions:

1. Get Admin to log in to the forum much more frequently than the current once every six months or so!
2. Appoint more moderators to deal with day to day matters as they occur.
3. A probationary period for all new members - no posting possible for first three months!
4. New members can only post in a new members sub-forum for first three months after probation ends.
5. Limit new members to a maximum of one post per day for first six months after probation.

and...

6. Actually get your "exclamation point in a small triangle at the top of each post" up and working so we can use it!

Electronic spamming is the use of electronic messaging systems to send an unsolicited message, especially advertising, as well as sending messages repeatedly on the same site.

Dear Moderator,

Why can't we post? My wife wants to start a new thread on the female board. Help?
