So where is the real science to back this up that this particular individual would have been dead 20 years ago, considering the average life expectancy of normal weight males is 76 (81 - 76 = 5 years ago at most) ...

Hmmm, OK.
BMI is currently being discussed by the health industry in respect to if it's true reflection on health.
My Doctor was told 20 odd years ago that he was on his death bed due to his western diet and 'healthy' weight. He is alive today only because he drastically reduced his energy intake.
There has been numerous reports since the 1970's on extending life in humans and test animals by restricting their energy intake. One such theory promotes only eating every second day and them only small amounts of un processed vegetarian food.
Eating after 15:00 is actually a really bad thing to do.
I cannot believe that you would rather be insulin dependent. In Australia (as with many wesetrn countries) diabetes is like a plague. The cost to the community is incalculable.
I am not a medical practitioner. I follow the directions that the Doctors give. I am not even involved in a biological field, rather, I have read the reports based on my interest over the last 30 odd years. I note, however, that the reports I have read have indicated that skinny is healthy, also, regular News state that fat people are a multi million $ risk to the Austarlian economy, and people in developing countries who are thin also have a comparisonly extended life.
Lets not even discuss teh effects the way western's eat has screwed up the environment (yes, cows produce lots of environmental problems). Hmm, wonder if there is a $ to be made in making people fat? Hmm, for example, wonder why the scientist who say it is good to eat meat are funded by the meat industry...
What amazes me, however, is why somebody who is so negative about skinny people would come to this site. There is no use in pursuing this question however. I have seen similar negative postings on other topics.

I am fearful that any scientific data I were to provide would be a waste of both our time. You like what you like and that is perfectly OK. The comments I posted were certainly not overtly negative, but seriously...Do we need scientific data to explain that many of these ladies are seriously underweight?
I hate to make this comment, but I've seen this body type before...Have you? Images of Auschwitz come to mind.
I apologize if it appears that I've attacked you with my initial comments and then the followup here, but you struck a nerve when you started that old "westerners" fingerpointing. I guess I'm the one who is now annoyed! LOL!
