|
|
I went after work to a local shop (Tattoo blues by Ft Lauderdale beach) and got a PA today. My wife suggested it a couple months ago and I've really been hemming and hawing about it for the past month. Finally I decided to just go and do it.
The piercer (Pinhead, as he prefers to be called) was very nice and we made some light chit-chat prior to the procedure which was very helpful to get my nerves settled.
Once he got to work, there were really only two uncomfortable moments. The first was when he inserted the receiving tube and the the second was obviously the needle. I was expecting the tube since I have done some sounding (not really into it) but the thin edges were scratching as he positioned it. After the tube, he told me to take a few deep breaths, and he would tell me to blow out hard as he pushed the needle. I was expecting a long, drawn out pain but it was like two seconds of FIRE when he pushed it through. As soon as he passed the ring through it was over and there was only the slightest pinching feeling.
I was given a surgical glove to fasten to my member and keep the blood from staining my pants. It turns out that on my drive home (~45 minutes) it filled up with a pretty good amount of blood, probably a couple ounces - I didn't realize this until I took it off at home.
Oh, the blood! I sat on the toilet and bled from 6:30 till 8:00 with a nonstop drip-drip-drip every 2-3 seconds. Finally it clotted enough for me to get up and put one of my wife's pads inside my boxers. Prior to 9:00 when it actually got under control I was REALLY regretting doing this. Now it seems as though I'll be ok by Monday. I'm still bleeding but it's NOTHING like it was...
I was really fearing the first pee but it actually didn't hurt at all! A slight sting at the end but barely perceptible. I went again an hour later and it was similar. I may have to hemorrhage for another day or two but at least I don't have to deal with the burning as well.
Overall, things are going well. I have a 10 gauge ring in it and my piercer said I could come back in two weeks and get whatever I wanted. I'm probably looking towards an 8ga curved barbell. |

Grats on the new metal. I had my PA done about 7 weeks ago, a 10 gauge just like yours, in a curved barbell. I'm uncut and my piercer reckons it would be more comfortable than a full ring or captive ball. I didn't bleed much at all, maybe a few drops over 2-3 hours but thats all. It seems to vary for some folks, I got lucky I guess.
It's important to maintain hygiene and keep up the salt solution soaking a couple of times a day for a week or two, I can't stress that enough.
I did get some minor urethral burning for a couple of weeks but keeping up the hydration makes the urea content lower and it doesn't sting as much. The first pee in the morning can be a bit of a butt clencher for a week or so though. Eventually things will heal up and it won't burn anymore.
It can take 3-4 weeks for things to feel more comfortable so don't stress if you feel some mild discomfort. Oh and don't take it out, it's a bitch to get back in.
I recently moved up to an 8 gauge in a bent barbell with a larger ball and the urethral end and a smaller ball at the frenum for comfort. This way it won't disappear inside when the missus and I get frisky! When I went up a gauge I went back to get it done professionally because the initial hole is so small it's hard to see what you're doing unless your lucky to be double jointed and can get close enough, <ahem>...I also picked up another 8 gauge curved barbell in case I feel like feel it.
In a few weeks you won't even notice it's there but all the same you'll be really glad you did get it. Keep at it, it's worth it.
Any questions or problems I, like many of the PA wearers here, will be more than glad to add our 2c worth of advice. |

Yup,PAs are great. I did my own 4 years ago at 10 ga. I am at 00 ga now and it is quite the mod. Take your time if you are guaging up. Let it heal good for the first 2 months. And Enjoy |

Thanks for the advice! The bleeding has pretty much stopped today and it seems to be coming along very nicely.
I had some bleeding after my morning shower but it was only a few drops. I put on another pad (how do women deal with this? it feels like a rolled up newspaper!) after that and there was a tiny bit of blood but it has since stopped and I'm not wearing the pad any longer.
Pain at this point is almost non-existent. If the ring flops from one side to the other, I do get a little tingle from the raw flesh at the piercing point but that's pretty much it. There is a very minor tingle otherwise. At this point, 26 hours later, I'm in great shape. Certainly better than I was doing the first two hours after I had it done.
Now I'm looking into my options for new jewelry and I know that I want to get a curved barbell but I don't know what material I want or what ends I would want. It's very "kid in a candy store" when I go to a website and look around.
The only drawback - and I knew it going forward - is that peeing standing up was pretty much done with. I haven't tried it yet but watching the stream go backwards down the ring while sitting down is enough evidence to not bother standing up. Not a huge loss since I've always had some weird thing with the slit that causes the stream to go wherever the hell it likes and not generally straight forward into the toilet.
BTW: I seriously thought about doing it myself for about 30 minutes. I have a 14ga needle from a syringe and I maybe could have done it myself but I would've probably made a huge mess of myself in the process and after hearing the piercer say "I had to go around a vein when I pierced you" I'm glad I didn't.
Also, I paid $160 for the whole thing which included an extra $10 for the H2Ocean spray. I don't know if that's too much or average but they are known for doing more 'exotic' piercings and he really made me feel at ease which I would've gladly paid extra for. |

| Yeah urinating is a whole new experience once you get a PA. You have to learn to do it all over again. I suggest sitting down if you can or finding a urinal with some space on either side if you can't. I've had some luck with turning the old fella upside down and peeing with the ring on top, sounds uncomfortable but it isn't really and keeps the ring out of the way. |

I've pretty much stopped bleeding today. Woke up with a spot of blood on the far left and right of my boxers from when I was flopping around in my sleep. Later during the day, there was some minor bleeding but nothing serious.
I did just notice that the "collar" has a slight red line about 3/4" long and it's a little puffy. There is also a small bruise on the other side. I don't have a fever and nothing hurts so I'm guessing I'm ok. The outside hole had a little crust on it this morning but it's fine now.
My cleaning regiment is to use the H2Ocean spray at least 4-6 times a day, a soak in sea salt and water at night. I also try to drink enough water, keep the coffee intake low, and wear loose pants and boxers. |

I find if I slide the circular barbell all the way to the end so that one of the beads rests against the bottom hole, I can piss at a urinal - but you have to turn your dick almost upside down.
In the end sitting down is easier and cleaner with the ring in. Think of it as a quiet moment in your day.
Without the ring - just put your finger over the bottom hole and go for it. |
