I bought my first pump, "Dr Joel Kaplan's Medical Vacuum Pump System"
Firstly, the base is totally without any kind of padding and it digs into my groin. Is there an easy way to add some cushioning?
Secondly, what do you think of the suggested pumping regimen that comes included with the pump?
Copy/Paste Follows:
------------------------------
* Place the erect lubricated penis in the 1st cylinder (penis and scrotum
when using the 2nd cylinder - 2nd cylinder is optional).
* Gently begin squeezing the trigger to gradually increase pressure in the
cylinder to -5 to -10 depending how long you have been using the system. DO NOT EXCEED -10 IN PRESSURE. You should never feel pain or discomfort. If swelling, discoloration or pain occurs, release the pressure immediately and discontinue pump usage for at least 48 hours.
* Continue the session for the scheduled time (see PUMP SCHEDULE on back cover). During the session, massage and re-lubricate the penis and scrotum
every 10 to 15 minutes as directed in the schedule. This will circulate the
blood flow in the penis.
* During the final 3 minutes of using the 1st cylinder, increase the
pressure by 3 mercury inches of power but not to exceed -10.
* When you are finished with your pump session, depress the quick release valve to release pressure and remove your penis from the cylinder.
* Urinate, then wash your penis after each pump session. Itching may occur if you do not clean all lubricated areas thoroughly.
* Secure the penis strap around the penis and scrotum. The strap should be worn snug but not tight for 45 minutes to an hour after the pump session. This allows the penis to remain semi-erect after the session by maintaining a fair amount of blood in the penis, assisting in the enlargement process.
Weeks 1 thru 4
1st Cylinder
Pump for 10 minutes - massage - pump for 10 minutes
2nd Cylinder (disregard this step if you do not have the 2nd cylinder)
Pump for 10 minutes - massage - pump for 10 minutes
Weeks 5 thru 8
(increase pressure by 2 mercury inches, if comfortable to do so)
1st Cylinder
Pump for 15 minutes - massage - pump for 15 minutes
2nd Cylinder (disregard this step if you do not have the 2nd cylinder)
Pump for 15 minutes - massage - pump for 15 minutes
Weeks 9 thru 12
1st Cylinder
Pump for 15 minutes - massage - pump for 15 minutes
- massage - pump for 10 minutes
2nd Cylinder (disregard this step if you do not have the 2nd cylinder)
Pump for 15 minutes - massage - pump for 15 minutes
- massage - pump for 10 minutes
Weeks 13 and Longer
(increase pressure by 2 mercury inches, if comfortable to do so)
1st Cylinder
Pump for 15 minutes - massage - pump for 15 minutes
- massage - pump for 15 minutes
2nd Cylinder (disregard this step if you do not have the 2nd cylinder)

(I didn't buy the "second cylinder" so I assume I just skip those parts.)
How does this seem? I've mostly been pumping up to -5 over the course of five minutes and staying at -5 for another five minutes, then reducing the pressure back to 0 over 3-5 minutes. Then massaging and doing it a second time. It feels more comfortable than ratcheting the pressure up or down right away. I haven't tried the leather strap yet, but I suppose I may as well. In just a few sessions, I've already noticed my erections are much more firm, so it's definitely getting me somewhere. In fact, I woke up this morning almost maddeningly hard. I look forward to using it again tomorrow and seeing my results after a few months.
Thanks for any advice.
BTW: the guide says "don't go over -10 pressure!" but the gauge goes all the way to -30... |

It's a tad conservative, but very reasonable. Those instructions are generally intended for increase in length, expansion of erectile tissues and assisting better erectile function. Other than the part about including the scrotum with a second tube, it's not intended for the aesthetics of super-sizing the skin that you mostly see on this site. |

10" Hg is an awful lot of pressure. Anything over 7" is really too much, and I recommend maxxing out at 5" sustained pressure, with short bursts (5-10 seconds) up to 6 or 7".
The cock expands much better (and ultimately faster) when you take it slow at first, giving it time to adapt. So I recommend 1-2" Hg during the first set, and 2-3" Hg during the second. Hold the pressure at the higher level for about 1 minute, then drop back to the lower "resting level" for 15-30 seconds. Keep the transitions fairly slow.
During your first couple months of pumping, don't exceed 4" Hg.

| I like to stick to about -5hg as my pressure point. I pump longer than that as well. I pump for 15 to 20 minutes, then take a break, massage, repump for 15 minutes and do this over a 2 hour period. At first my penis became spongy but after a couple weeks it hardened and I have rock hard penis now. Best of luck, Jer |

Ditto! Never pump above 7 unless you have amazingly resilient skin.
The key is to pump for an extended length of time (with frequent massage breaks). Imo, a pumping seession of less than an hour is a waste of time.
If you find that you like pumping and wish to continue, try a Velseal cylinder from Pumptoys. They have silicone cushions that make extended pumping very comfortable. |
